Lovely day today, despite the start when I discovered I'd been hit by an odd bit of vandalism. Sometime 'tween yesterday eve when I put the new plates on and this morning when a neighbor knocked on my door to point it out, apparently someone hit upon the bright idea of snipping off the bits w/the registration year info (lower right). WhatEVER. A trip to the DMV (and $15) will get me new plates & registration.
More importantly, we went wandering on a delightful urban-hiking trail through Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge and explored the Oaks Amusement Park, a marvelously funky Scooby-Doo reminiscent place on the banks of the Willamette River (Holgrove Channel) that's been around since 1905 and features a huge old Skating Rink along w/rides 'n' cheesy attractions. Who wants to head over w/me some Th or Sun and skate while the guy's playing the mighty Wurlitzer! And I'm heading back 'gain when the amusement park's open to ride the Ferris Wheel w/whoever joins me...or solo...wheeeeeeeee!
Oh, note to self: ALWAYS carry an umbrella/rain poncho when walking, unless you don't mind getting wetted upon. (Wasn't bad this time, but ya' never now how long it'll last when the skies open up and the wetting begins.)

Pointless Vandalism (Redundant)

Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge (Redundancy Cont'd)

Random Art Piece Amongst the Trees
