How Odd

There are no bookcases in any of the bedrooms here ('cept one in the guest room closet - and it functions as the linen cupboard). All but one of 'em live in the front hall. The one remaining tall one's gonna move (prolly today) to the dining room to hold cookbooks mostly. Eventually it'll get doors put on the bottom half to provide more kitch storage. It feels quite odd having so many rooms sans bookshelves...but I'll wait a while before adding 'em, both b'c I'm not sure where they'd go and b'c I don't have anymore to stick anywhere yet anyway. So there.

One day I would like to get a real bed. I've been sleeping on the Full mattress 'n' memory foam topper on the floor. Soon I would like to - but need help - build the bedframe for this in the guest bedroom, currently occupied by [livejournal.com profile] elainiac on the Queen Aerobed (inflatable) on the floor which'll prolly end up in the attic for overflow guests. Upstairs there's currently Full Aerobed for more extra visitors and for camping ('cause I think the Q's too big for my tent...although p'rhaps the solution lies (gr) in getting a bigger tent rather than a smaller bed, even though the smaller bed's already procured - variety, options, choice abound(s)).

Slept well, soundly, and longly. Not awake yet. Gonna take it sorta slowly today...

You could always get bookcases like I had in Newhall, the brackets on the wall with boards on them type. Cheap space savers.

Hmm. Will think on't some. Haven't unpacked all the books yet so amn't sure how many more I'll NEED yet. There were only a few shelves of books in my bedroom in Sta Monica, 'cause a bunch of junk filled up the rest of it...and mebbe I can find a better place for that junk (I've got a BASEMENT and even after sending a mess o' cardboard boxes up to Clan Sidhefire I've got those folding file boxes for containment o' junk). Nothing up on the wall yet tho...thinking I need a professional up for hanging my art. *DROPPING HINT* ;-)

Boy, I would love to have enough bookshelves for all of my books. I periodically go through the painful ordeal of taking a bunch of them to the used bookstore to sell, and I still have the overwhelming majority locked in storage bins in the garage...

Maybe someday.

I'm glad you're starting to make the new place into a home.

Dang. You've reminded me. There are still a bunch of boxes of books currently still buried in the living room that came from the garage that I have yet to deal with...*sigh*. I need to take a mess to the used bookstore someday soon. Yesterday's put-away session resulted in 1.5 boxes to be sold. I must NOT look through the box again but must be strong and take 'em and make 'em go AWAY.

*grins*.. I came home and told [livejournal.com profile] ulesegisa that I had serious bookcase envy now... Yep, there is definitely a trip to IKEA somewhere in our future!
