Am I supposed to know? Am I supposed to care 'bout her death more than about any other random person's passing? *shakes head in wonderment & mild confusion*

She was a model (Guess, Playboy, most recently some diet drug or other), married a really old zillionaire, and had a reality show for a while. She was a bit of a train wreck, like so many people who rocket from anonymous rags to famous riches for mostly superficial reasons.

Still, she was a relatively young woman with an infant daughter (and a adult son who died not long ago from drug complications). Her death makes me sad for reasons that I can't entirely articulate right now.

Yeah, the train wreck thing made her a "celebrity", mostly I feel sad for her that her life was such a mess. I especially feel for her daughter, who's paternal lineage is in question.

She was a celebrity.

A celebrity, by definition, is someone who's well known for his or her well-known-ness.

Hope this helps.

In "Guys Eyes" She was a young Bombshell (Beautiful) woman who emulated Marylin Monroe in everything she did. She married a BILLIONAIRE who was 97 and when he croaked, she felt she was entitled to his money. The Billionaire's family sued saying she was only with him for the money. She argued it was LOVE. She appeared in PLAYBOY several times and became a playmate. She grew fat and controversial with things she said that some network gave her own show called "The Anna Nicole Show" in which she only embarassed herself even more. TRIMSPA came to her balloning rescue and she dropped all kinds of weight and became HOT again. Then her son died not long ago. She had a baby less than a year ago and now with taking several combinations of low level anti-depressants with something else, the combo killed her. She was more like a "bad train wreck coming" that you wanted to look away but couldn't.

well, her son Danny died from methadone combined with anti-depressants (keeled over while visiting mom in the hospital actually, within three days of the baby's birth), an apparently unintentional death.

Anna's mom is blaming drugs, but the autopsy reports aren't public yet.

The estate from her marriage is STILL in litigation, so the millions from her billionaire hubby might go to the man she might have been legally married to at the time of her death, or might wind up going to the infant she left behind (paternity still being determined/litigated). The girl left behind more lawsuits than you can shake a stick at...

Here's a good Salon.com article about her passing. I found it to be insightful, and well-written.

Manufactured news for manufactured minds. The less exposure to these things you have, the happier you'll be.

For the longest time, I reveled in my ignorance of all things OJ. It was only a little while ago that I actually registered his verdict in my mind.
