I do like antici-SAY IT-pation - it's a large part of the enjoyment of travel/events, along w/the fun of planning - even if'n the results of what I'm waiting for may be not what I wanna hear. 'Cause the advantage of knowing over wondering is being able to take concrete action. 'Til then, I'll pass the time perusing all available options.

Gots to read the book [livejournal.com profile] hiddentass was talkin' 'bout on Friday - link to title & author requested b'c I'm A Bear of Very L'il Brain and cannot remember much beyond the cover and the topic (generally) and where the author's working now - on how thoughts/choices are really rarely dispassionate. Still, there's a difference 'tween wailing & moaning & beating one's breast & flailing one's arms and being still (internally) while taking stock. My standard M.O./mood/mode when confronted w/stressful situations is to get quite calm. Sometimes, though, I will freak out somewhat beforehand - but usually not for very long before stopping to figure out whassup and dealing with it as best I can (seeking help and/or clarification of facts as needed) or afterwards - 'til reaching catharsis.

Was up early (4am-ish) this morn (prolly mostly and certainly in part b'c of spending so much time zzz'ing yesterday) with images of alien infestations mixed w/Greek mythology swirling through my head. Not a bad thing...quite interesting actually.

Standard course of illness: Felt much better this morning, but not all better, so went out for b-fast then ran a quickie errand (got groceries)...just enough activity to make me feel weak, hot, and a bit shaky, but at least the aching head and queasiness (mostly) subsided after b-fasting. Temp = 97.3 (fairly standard for me, as I tend to run below normal, although a tad on the low side for my norm). Now starting to feel chilled. Okay, I'm turning on the heater, changing back into my PJs, and NOT going out again today (prolly).

Had hoped to/planned on spending time on the garage carp this week and next, but it ain't gonna happen for a couple daze now at least. *sigh* Silver lining: get to quote one of my fave bits what fits the sitch quite suitably:

The best laid schemes o' mice and men
Gang aft a-gley;
An' lea'e us nought but grief and pain,
For promis'd joy.

- Robert Burns: To a Mouse (stanza 7)
