Home Again

Phew! It's been a busy - and wonderful & wonderous - last few days. Drove up to Berkeley last Thursday (7 hours), feeling fab, listening to loud music and enjoying the anticipation of my step-sis's West Coast wedding reception. 7 hours up, 1.5 hours to recover, shower, visit w/other fambily, then leave for the shindig. 'Twas a small fambily affair (20 people), a really nice one. Up late (left the restaurant at 1am). I like my fambily (most permutations). Also got to visit w/another step-sis and stay at her new house (they're half in the new one and half out of the olde one a few blocks away). Then drove back home on Friday. 9 hours this time, far more exhausting, but quite nice along PCH through Malibu late in the day. After 1.5 hours or so of taking care of stuff and doing last minute prep, I drove delerium3 and ebony_sphinx up to Big Bear (3 hours) where deviantgrrrl and LJ-less Ev. joined us. 'Twas a really nice drive.

Saw shootings stars (Perseides (sp)) and stayed up later than I thought we would... Slow start on Sat, what w/the face/body painting and all, but we eventually wandered over to Big Bear Faire and had a right fine time, seeing shows & hanging out w/good people. Later on: Demon (card game), wonderful chow courtesy of the Cook (ebony_sphinx) including spur-of-the-moment yeah, let's do make apple pie (YUM!), hanging w/various folks, staying up real late yet again, getting to know folks better. Today: jacuzzi, reading, eating, walking through forests, fields, marshes, sharing music, driving back from Big Bear (only 2.5 hours). Yeah, this is disjointed and not overly elaborate or descriptive...wish I had the energy to give it the descriptions and verbiage it deserves, but o'morrow (um, later today) I've got to be in Orange County at 9am for a dentist appt and I'm SLEEPY, yet wired. May well hit D-land after that to see my fave band and mebbe go on a ride or two, but then I'm going home for recovery so I can spend several days this week (or a couple at least) dealing w/carp I MUST DEAL WITH. (Back to BBFaire next w'end!)

Meanwhile, SO many things swirling through my head. DAMN FINE WEEKEND in oh so many incredible ways. Sometimes I think I'm dreaming and cannot believe I'm so lucky. Must now sleep. Wishing my friends well.
