Good day in Berkeley w/tons of rain, even though it meant cutting short the walkies. Visited w/fambily and an olde friend who I've known for over a quarter-century (yow!) after hitting Dark Carnival (a couple doors up from my olde nursery school), where it's far too easy to spend far too much moolah. Now I'm back in SJ and not planning on going far afield for a couple of days. Driving back down South on Th.
Have waffled back and forth about the trip to Phx for the final day of RenFest (Sun) and to help a friend unpack from her move 2 (or 3?) years ago. Wanna do it, even though it's a tad insane. That'd have me leave town Sat eve, returning Tu eve, only to turn around a few days later (Fri) to drive up to Carmel for a few days ('til Mon) w/an assortment of fambily. Have a nagging feeling that part(s) of the fambily think I'm planning on spending time w/them when that's not in/on my schedule...sigh.
Meanwhile, have learned that my step-dad and his wife will likely spend a month in Cape Breton (Nova Scotia) this summer, although I'm not ('cause they're not) sure WHEN. I'd like to spend another week or two there myself. And there's the H-wood Bowl. And perhaps more bigness...
The Bay Area still feels like home. Whenever I come back it's like making a pilgrimage, returning to olde haunts, regrounding myself, feeling mighty comfie, 'specially as I've got a mess of fambily and friends around and could/would make more if'n I were around more.
