Plan Shift = Positive
Jul. 6th, 2013 01:00 amThe past few days've not gone as planned, but've nonetheless been really nice. Initially, I'd planned to spend this entire long weekend at the Portland Waterfront Blues Fest. My houseguest/cuz, however, managed to tweak her back big-time the AM of July 4, thus tossing a wrench into this plan. We'd planned to go together, and I didn't want to head out on public transportation to the Waterfront where I'd not be able to return home quickly if need be.
Instead, after ensuring she was set w/ice, muscle relaxants and Advil (as she'd considered this turn o' events a reasonable possibility), food, and DVDs (yes, I've taken this opportunity to turn yet another person onto Firefly), I headed out for a very nice nearby 4th o' July shindig w/very good food & folks & fireworks.
Yesterday (Fri) - really, earlier today - as she wasn't much better (although improving somewhat, thank goodness), I once again made sure she had chow, medication, water, and s'more Firefly DVDs handy, then made my way over to GEAR Con 2013. ferociousbcycad set up the Art Salon there, as well as shuttling gear around for tomorrow aka Saturday's Abney Park concert, and enjoying much fine people-watching, art-admiring, &c. along the way. Some pics from GEAR Con 2013 appear beneath this link.
Tomorrow (Sat), we hope to make it to the Blues Fest. I'm a tad concerned though. I don't want her to overdo it, as she needs to fly out Sun evening for long work day on Monday.
