1st ever diet. 1 week. 10 lbs. Would be more encouraging 'cept this represents merely returning to where I was before the holidaze. Still, at least it's in the right direction.

Some exercise every day (beach or cemetary walking mostly, but w/one eve of ice skating in Pershing Square) and eating five (5) small meals a day (every 2.5 - 3 hours). (Supposed to speed up metabolism.) Cooking w/no oil, no salt, no sugar. 2 oz protein each meal (egg whites or turkey or sometimes tofu) and limited carbs (mostly rice) and sugars (e.g., fruit), supplemented w/masses of leafy green and other veggies. delerium3 found it somewhere. It's easier doing w/someone else than all alone. We even ate on the diet at The Natural Cafe in SB when were up there the other day which made it easier to handle.

Excellent! 10lbs should be encouraging no matter what. That ain't easy.

Speaking of losing weight - and Xmas presents - I just bought me and Amy bikes this weekend. I got out yesterday and rode it for about 7 miles or so. Fantastic workout but my ass is protesting the seat. Looks like I might be on the road to recovery with ya.
