Nope, haven't seen the movie yet, but quite liked the book. More importantly, most of MY bees are now up! I put up the bedroom hardware all by my lonesome: screwing and drilling and finally inserting the bee-laden rod into the proper position. The living room hardware was already up so I merely threaded the curtains on, screwed on the finials, and stuck 'em up. Must do some final adjustments before tightening everything (and don't have the energy for that now), but I've got privacy and softness rather than ugly decade-plus-olde Venetian blinds. Next up: final adjustments and the rest of the bees, e.g., valences for the blinds (which for some reason I insist on mispronouncing as in properly pronounced "co-valent" w/the long a).

It's very pleasant to be home again, even though the past few daze (barely) away have been quite nice. I've been involved in more ironing over the past few daze then in the my entire lifetime up 'til this project began. Today we measured lots of fabric, cut it, tore it apart, and put it back together again (ironing before and after most steps). Many thx - as usual for home projects - to [livejournal.com profile] delerium3 for all her help.

I quite like the colors: off-white (ivoryish) & greenish grays & grays. Not quite sure how it's gonna go w/my usual bedroom color scheme (red, orange & yellow), although it looks nice w/the current Fall decor (purple, gray, black & white). Fargo & Havana (black w/white bits) fit in nicely.
