As someone (I've forgotten who) noted, the PacNW's about to undergo a beta test of Summer. Forecasted temps for today and tomorrow: mid-upper 80s. Then things'll return to the more trad'l Spring of 60s and 70s. If memory services, Supper proper'll kick in on July 5, although there'll be several more teaser bouts 'tween now and then.
In anticipation of more heat, I went out yesterday to research and procure (and then install w/the help of a Dear Friend) a window AC unit for the dorm (large attic bedroom at Hive Magnum). So far it's making do w/cross-ventilation and box fans, but I want the option of cooling it way down if/when folks visit.
Hopefully folks will return. Feels like I've been living a fairly insular life lately, not getting out and about much, barely maintaining my social connections (much less expanding my social circles). Yet it also feels good getting stuff done at and around mi casa, so it'll be more pleasant when folks DO visit. (And yeah, I've had some folks over and around, so don't quite know what's up. Hmm, mebbe I do. There're certain folks who I don't see so much anymore, mainly b'c of geography and time, but also b'c things shift, such as attention, focus, direction. Once again time to revisit the first of my Life Mottos: Nothing Last Forever.)
SO glad I hit Blue Monk last night for the last free Tuesday night Pagan Jug Band show there. A couple Dear Friends joined me and we had a fab time. (Next week's free Tuesday show'll take place at Ford Food & Drink, even closer to HM.)
Feeling like I've got nada to say these days (or at least nada that folks wanna hear), like I've lost myself somewhere, like I put myself down on a table and've forgotten to pick myself back up. Odd, and disconcerting. And yeah, I DO realize that the fact that I'm feeling this way after writing probably the longest - and certainly most personal - LJ entry in ages makes it/me sound/seem a bit silly ;-)
