A Very Good Day
Apr. 14th, 2013 08:27 pmAll packed now for upcoming Toad Rip to John Day Fossil Beds w/
lupagreenwolf, other than the last-minute sticking of cold snacks into small ice chest which'll happen right before leaving. ETD o'morrow AM, returning Tu PM.
Mostly packed for my subsequent solo longer Toad Rip as well (beach, hot springs, fambily b-day Bay Area visit, &c.) Leaving Wed, returning...well, no later than May 1.
Managed to coordinate the step-mom's b-day thingie at long last, too. (Finally just got on the freakin' phone rather than trying to rely on FB msgs and e-mails.)
Finished up the last bit of my taxes, and'll mail 'em o'morrow, along w/my passport book renewal, giving the Bridal Veil PO some business to help 'em stay in biz. The latter doesn't expire 'til Jan 2014, but I'd rather not wait 'til the last minute and/or 'til I've got a trip scheduled.
Enjoyed a very nice visit w/a couple of friends down from WA today as well. We met at Lan Su Chinese Garden, wandered around, and caught up over tea in the Teahouse in the Tower of Cosmic Reflection. Link to Pics Here At the Cut. One teaser pic for here 'n' now:

Date: 2013-04-15 11:16 am (UTC)Mostly it's very... rural. But there's some fun little stuff, and I am unaccountably excited about it.
We will also be going to the Omak rodeo-stuff because Jim's work sponsors part of it (kind of amusing, having a funeral Home sponsor the 'suicide run' horse ride thing... yeah. Irony, it burns) and there will be lots of non-rodeo events there too, to take part in... that's much later in the year.
Maybe at some point, when we're not flailing, you can come visit and explore... we have the world's most awesome inflateable bed, and room to put it up, even in this tiny studio, so you wouldn't even have to find a hotel. Heck, you could ride the train, if you wanted, and then borrow the Van or go places with us. :)
