So, even though he has not been a part of my fambily for over 15 years (as he was my now-ex-hubby's uncle), I still feel sad after learning that Uncle S passed away this week. For several years, we house/cat-sat for UncS & T several times a year while they went off salmon fishing in Alaska and/or traveling other places. I can think of at least one memorable Passover Seder at their place. He was a good uncle-in-law and he will be missed.

This reminds me once again of the importance of living NOW rather than waiting for...whatEVER. This feeling's heightened right now b'c I just finished a powerful book, Ann Patchett's Bel Canto.

I've spent a chunk of the past 9 months somewhat numb, more biding my time than really living. Hmm, then again, I suppose musing and healing does count as living. Now though I'm once again taking a more active role in living my life, rather than merely trying to get through each day w/out breaking down in tears and/or struggling to get up and outta bed and do something (anything) to make it through the day. Phew!

Lotsa feelings coursing through my veins and flooding my head 'n' heart right now. Not finding the words to express 'em. Wanting to hug and hold close those nearest and dearest to me now. Must do so virtually though as geography & timing remain b!tches. (Those near enough are bizzy w/other things, and those far away are not here.)
