Got outta town later than I'd originally planned today, but this didn't surprise me that much, as time is a slippery fish, after all. Stopped off at Cabela's in Eugene to pick up a replacement pair of fit-over sunglasses, as my last ones went AWOL. It seemed odd doing so on a intermittently rainy, grey day, but as I'm headed to SoCal, it's actually a good 'n' wise move.

My initial plan had me landing in Redding, CA for the night. I then scaled that back to Ashland, OR. Ultimately though, I decided to stop as the sky began to darken, opting for what's becoming my new fave 1-nite away from home spot (Southward): Wolf Creek Inn. It's got interesting history, good food, free full breakfast w/room, and decent bathtubs - and it's not that pricey.

(Mind you, if'n OSF were still in season (and if'n it weren't a Monday/dark day), then I'd prolly've kept going to Ashland. I do so enjoy getting a half-price ticket for a play, staying at the Bard's Inn, and eating at Black Sheep.)

This choice means that tomorrow I'll get to stock the ice chest w/cheese, glorious cheese from Rogue Creamery. Mmmm...

Next up: several overnight stops at San(ta) spots (seasonally appropriate - or so it'd seem based on all the freakin' x-mas music they played whilst I wandered 'round Cabela's - despite the fact that it's not even Thanksgiving yet ;-): San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Barbara, and possibly Santa Monica.

Happy Zooming! May whatever you're doing go well, too.
