Warren Ellis has an excellent piece about this America broke sex (warning, contains descriptions of acts I've never heard of before and wish I hadn't heard of).

I just put that on hold at the library - it looks fascinating and an excellent antidote to much of what I dislike about standard conservation. Some combination of geoengineering and active management of ecologies seems inevitable, and if we're going to be in control anyway, the idea of active choice rather than attempting to adhere to some fixed model of what is "natural" seems both foolish and ultimately doomed.

Two initial thoughts re: starting bits of W'Ellis article: (1) at least they used cellophane, and (2) now I really don't wanna ever eat at a Carl's Jr. I quite like the quip though 'bout the U.S. = where the future gets road tested.
