The Quiet Power of Joyfulness

I'm quite glad it has returned. Today's been good. Simply being here (locally/in Portland) and taking care of what needs taking care of (going on a Costco run w/a Dear Friend, enjoying chai 'n' chatting 'n' chow, moving forward on medium-term plans, &c.), then reading whilst sipping hot tea - it's so pleasant and quietly happy-making. I have no plans or reason to drive 200+ miles/3-4 hours anytime soon. This pleases me hugely.

I Toad Ripped for a couple of weeks to CA and back in celebration of my b-day recently. I'll do the same again in November for my step-grandma's 90th b-day celebration in SoCal followed by T-giving w/one set of 'rents (and hopefully w/[livejournal.com profile] 1annie1 &c. as well) in the Bay Area. 'Til then though, I have no current plans to leave my hometown. It's been YEARS since this's been the case. And it feels oh-so-sweet/good/nice/right.

Change is afoot, but it's my choice and at my speed and doesn't require any buy-in from or action by others. I'm gonna make my own way, choose my own paths, dance my own dances, move along as I see fit. This is good and right and satisfying (even as I realize that things 'n' plans'll change as I go along).

BAPAMAP indeed! You staying put is just more excuse to come down there to visit more often. *muah*
