Soft Foods & Fiction

I cannot handle anything too hard these days, at least not 'til my perm crown's placed and my energy's back. So I've lunched on Fishy Chips (deep-fried lightly-battered anchovies w/numbly secret sauce) and procured more avocados, pears, bananas, hummus, feta, and smoked oysters (plus 1/2 'n' 1/2 to accompany tea).

Since the parking gods smiled on me, I also hit up my neighborhood branch of Powells in order to snag the nice cheap used copy of S McGuire's An Artificial Night listed as there according to the on-line search function. On my way to pay, however, I happened to wander by the T Pratchett section...so ended up bringing home another 5 Discworld novels. *sigh - so much for reducing the # of books cluttering up the Hive* Still, average price = $5/book. So, whoo-hoo!

Now I intend to heed the clarion call of a hot bath w/bath salts (if'n I cannot track down more of my fave bubbly bath in the cupboard) and a good book. Hmm, what to devour first/next? Okay, decision made; it's the next (to/for me) October Daye novel. Yes, I'm having my own personal spa day right here at the Hive.

Le sigh...life, she is good. :-)

Having spa days is good for one's soul and then bleeds out goodness to everyone around you. I hope you have a lovely reading.

Just remember, it's Rent>Food>Books, not the other way 'round.
