Possibilities re: Upcomingness (2006)

late June - early July: houseguest1 closely followed by houseguest2 as the PacNW heads South to visit
Fri, July 7: Bugs Bunny @ H-wood Bowl (assuming those dang-blasted tix show up!)

POSSIBILITY #1:
Fly to Canada (East Coast - Cape Breton Isle, Nova Scotia) for a week (approx 7/8 - 7/15)
Fly back to SoCal
Drive up to WA for a week (drive M 7/17, arr W 7/19)

POSSIBILITY #2:
Drive to WA (lv 7/8, arr 7/10)
Fly from WA to Canada (East Coast) (approx 7/15 - 7/23)
Fly back from Canada to WA

THEN (AFTER EITHER CHOICE ABOVE):
Drive down to NoCal to arrive by W, July 26 (prolly lv M, 7/24)
Chaperone neices to NYC by train and enjoy NYC for a couple of daze: July 27 - Aug 2/3
Fly back to NoCal
Drive to SoCal to arrive by F, 8/5 (H-wood Bowl - Highland Fling)

Not sure what works better for WA folks or for my hopefully available travel partner ([livejournal.com profile] delerium3) on the CA-WA-CA portion of the adventure. Need to find out whether the train trip to NYC's likely, 'cause if not, there's far more flexibility involved (although I've gotta return from Canada no later than 7/28.

Coolness.. right now I'm planning on trying to fly back on that following Fri or Sat... as long as that works for you...

No problemo! I haven't tried Expedia (sp) but some folks swear by it for cheaper tix.

Also, if'n you cannot find a decently priced return ticket and the trip doesn't look wise budget-wise, you can always cancel the DING reservation and postpone your visit 'til it works out better w/your schedule. You'd get all money back - not as cash but as credit good towards any SW flight for one (1) year.

Hmmm.. I just found an Amtrak fare for $99/one way.... it's a trip of a day & a half.. but I've never taken the train... that might be fun... I think [livejournal.com profile] ulesegisa took that route when he came up to "visit"... *grins*

Ooooh, prolly quite lovely, 'specially if'n it's the coastal route. Mayhaps it's better to leave from Santa Barbara, CA rather than Union Station (downtown LA). Sorta think otherwise you may have to bus it part-way. Hopefully this wouldn't affect pricing. If so, fark my suggestion and go for't!

Yep.. it's the coastal route.. I got the ticket for departing on Fri/about noonish.. from Santa Barbara... you should get a copy of the schedule in your email... Hooray!.. The whole trip is planned...
