Making Lemonade Out Of Lemons

After learning that the Portland Japanese Garden's irises had begun blooming, I made reservations for this afternoon, the coolest day of the next 10 days. Even allowing extra time, we made it about 10 minutes late due to traffic from several construction projects and three (3) separate police incidents along the way. They'll take you up to 10 minutes late, but to top it all off, we found no parking spots available anywhere nearby. *SIGH* Took a different scenic route home, then decided to get something practical done since I had extra time.

I paid a couple of bills, and then once more engaged in a long complicated annoying project I've procrastinated on for weeks now: dealing w/the Federal Healthcare Marketplace. I got on the phone and learned that they needed MORE documents then those they told me last time. (Thankfully I only spent two (2) minutes on-line, as I dreaded the usual hours-long wait.) Now I've gathered up those documents. Once they're scanned, I'll upload them, and hopefully all will be right by the end of next week. Oh, I also updated my info w/the same numbers AGAIN, and hopefully they'll register this time, since the documents I got last month had info that didn't match what I'd last input. *fingers xd*

Feels good having made progress on this!

Good Brain Fodder

Procrastination Not Necessarily Laziness: "Once you lose track of the specific items that are causing you stress, you tend to regard it all as one big ugly entity that you want to avoid." *nods head in recognition at this and lots more herein*

Interesting tidbit: It's time for psychologists to put their house in order. BMC Psychology pledges 'to put less emphasis on interest levels' and publish repeat studies and negative results.
