Train Ride / Yukon Territory / Monkey Soup

Really good day w/[livejournal.com profile] delerium3 over. We b-fasted at the usual spot (Cup 'n' Saucer), then roamed Hawthorne some - picking up stickers 'n' cards 'n' gifts 'n' stuff 'n' things - returning afterwords to the Hive to catch up s'more and watch The Incredibles while partaking of the lovely Scotch she's brought me from her recent trip to Scotland (Edradour - 10 yr - YUM) and sucking down more hot tea, then headed for Mexican food at the Iron Horse Restaurant (appropriately enough) in Sellwood before going to Oaks Park for a train ride along the Willamette River on a nice old steam-engine drawn train (SP 4449) decked out w/x-mas lights where we helped celebrate someone's 13th b-day (we even got cupcakes!) and then got a visit from Santa Claus (who gave us candy canes). Sadly all the pics are in the cell phones, so they're not available here. To polish off the evening, we had dessert at Pix (Dobos Tart & serious hot chocolate, more like soup than anything else, w/a choco monkey swimming in't and real whipped cream...drool-worthy). Luckily we opted to call it a night at that point, since the improv show (LF5) we'd considered seeing this evening has been canceled due to imminent Bad Weather (Winter Storm Warning for snow, freezing rain, and sleet w/the advisement to refrain from any travel other than Emergency).

Tomorrow's plan: take it easy, stay indoors, and mebbe head out to the holiday soiree (wearing the fancy dress on loan from [livejournal.com profile] wildwoosi who once again provides me w/nice finery as needed)...or not.
