Deep & Desired Attentions

Do I have your attention? *rubs hands together* Good. Premises. Nibblets of thought. Kernels of truth. How to tell the classic/deeply true/truth from the truly shiny? How to detect & dispose of the dross? How to persevere w/out perseverating?

Okay, really: how to tell a story, how to find a story, how to recognize a story, how to structure a story, how to write out a character - 1 page character sheet explaining who the person is and how'd they react in any particular situation (in general at least) (distilling essences of character, outlining nuances (how does one outline a nuance?)) - then letting the story emerge? Hmm, I don't have the faith / trust in myself, the self-confidence (from experience) yet to do this. Hmm, this sounds like just another excuse to me.

How to tell a story? I can tell short ones. A long one though - yowza. Next year. I'll start now.

More? Perhaps later.
