Procedure Prep

Had a lovely visit from my niece and her hubby this past weekend. I hadn't seen 'em in over two (2) years, what with the worldwide pandemic and all. Should've officiated at their small wedding up in WA in September 2021, but my coming down w/Covid put paid to that. (Luckily it all worked out fine for the wedding. I sent along all the info needed, including full script w/vows, and the bride's sibling - who has drama training - took over as officiant.)

Now though, my world has narrowed tremendously. I'm on the couch on my PJs, but'll shift upstairs before long. (Thank goodness for a second bathroom upstairs w/bed nearby.) I've stuck to a strict low-fiber diet the past week. Today I imbibe nothing but clear liquids. In a couple hours, I begin the process of sucking down copious quantities of lemon-flavored slurry (1/2 gallon at a rate of 8 oz every 10-15 minutes for 2 hours) and fully cleansing my system. The second and final round of the prep runs from 2-4am. My colonoscopy check-in's set for 6:15am. Nothing to worry about, mind you. It's routine and preventative and happens every 3 years given fambily and personal history.

I look forward to good meal tomorrow after the procedure.

You'll be fine. I just recently underwent the same procedure -- with one seemingly important difference in prep. When you're back to normal, I have a question about your prep. See you on the other side!
