I quite enjoy parties and weekend camping events in large part because they provide me with many opportunities for one-on-one time with various people or small groups of people. Live music events - outdoors mostly, less interested these days in packed indoor arenas - have a lovely energy for me, as all focus on the music together. Reminds me of walking along the promenade in Santa Monica, when everybody's stop whatever they were doing and saying to watch the sun set over the water. Couples'd pull together. Everybody's focus on the moment of the shift from day to night. Magical liminal times, experienced individually yet shared amongst us all.
